Special Event Terms & Conditions

We've learned a lot over the last four years about how this event operates! Please take note of the points below to understand a few things about this special event, and some unique conditions that apply:

1. This is a special event, ticketed separately to our normal booking platform, so vouchers/giftcards/discounts are not applicable to this event;
2. Your ticket purchase will be processed by the event organisers and forwarded to GoBoat. No less than one week prior to your booking date, GoBoat crew will send you a confirmation email and a link to an online waiver form for everyone in your group to complete;
3. The cancellation policy for the event is still flexible, but because we experience huge demand each year, we need to be fair to people and avoid late-notice cancellations which leave very little time to notify our waitlist of an opportunity. Please see the cancellation policy below;
4. As you can appreciate, we can't control the weather. And we know even if the forecast is bad, most people will still want to wait until morning to reschedule or cancel. Our crew do their best to monitor the weather forecast, communicate with the balloon festival organisers, and communicate with ticket-holders, often well after-hours. Even if the balloon festival organisers decide not to 'take off' we'll still offer you the option of sailing out with your crew (unless the weather is unsafe) or a credit.

Cancellations

Cancellations of your ticket are possible for any reason for a full refund (less any booking/transaction fee) up to 14 days prior to the event. No refunds are possible within 14 days.

Cancellations between 14 and 7 days prior to the event will be issued a credit for use with GoBoat Canberra for the value of $269, valid for 12 months.

Cancellations between 7 days and 48 hours prior to the ticket date will be issued a credit for use with GoBoat Canberra for the value of $199.

Credits/refunds cannot be offered for cancellations within 48 hours of the booking departure time. Cancellations must be made by email only to canberra@goboat.com.au

As much as we would like to, GoBoat does not control whether the balloons will take off or not on the day, and our crew are still on-deck to facilitate those bookings that do wish to proceed. If the weather is safe and not raining but you decide not to board your boat on the day of your booking, any rebooking credit will be limited to $199 value.
