GoBoat Australia is proud to announce we have been accredited as a Sustainable Tourism operator by leading peak body, the Australian Tourism Industry Council.
This means a lot to all of us here at GoBoat because being a leading environmental citizen has always been at the heart of what we do – and now it’s official.
Our customers can sail with us confident in the knowledge they are treading lightly on the environment.
In order to gain this accreditation, we have been through a thorough assessment process.
Whether it’s from our boats, which are made from recycled PET bottles, to our picnic tables made from recovered wood, we make a conscious effort to care for and about the environment in which we operate.
As Australia’s leading electric picnic boat company, our hire boats have zero tailgate emissions, zero noise pollution and state-of-the-art design reduces wash, which can cause waterway erosion.
Our team across all our locations regularly undertake waterway clean ups with plastic bags, wrappers and bottles, cigarette butts and sushi soy fish containers among the most common items collected.
We also take part in Clean Up Australia Day with staff donating their time to take out our hire boats full with groups of volunteers on Canberra’s Lake Burley Griffin.
However, our contribution to the environment doesn’t end there – even our souvenir Captains Hats are made from recycled plastic.
GoBoat Australia will continue to work on ways we can reduce our impact on the environment, but this recognition of what we’ve done so far is a welcome acknowledgement and one of which we are all incredibly proud.
