Sådan fungerer GoBoat

Anyone can sail a GoBoat!

Since 2017, we have welcomed many guests aboard across Australia. Our boats are easy to drive, and you don't need a boat licence or any experience. Our crew will give you all the information you need to stay safe on the water, and demonstrate driving the boat before setting sail.

You're in full control as the captain of the boat, where you can take up to 8 people on board, including babies and children. We provide life jackets for everyone and dogs are welcome too. BYO food and drinks to complete the experience!

No licence required

Each boat fits up to 8 people

The GoBoat Experience

Booking

You can check live availability and make a booking online. You’ll receive a booking confirmation email with important details, including a link to your digital waiver.

Make sure everyone in your group has signed their waiver before arrival to avoid delays during check-in!

Want to book for a larger group (20+ people)? If you can’t select the number of boats or departure time you’re looking for, please get in touch - we may still be able to accomodate your booking.

Checking in

Make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before your reserved time to allow time for check-in and your safety briefing.

When you arrive at the dock, our staff will begin the check-in process. You’ll need a form of photo ID and a physical credit or debit card for the security deposit (see your booking confirmation email for more details).

Once you're checked in, our staff will give you a map and explain your recommended route, the rules of the waterway, and any operating boundaries. They’ll then take you to your boat and demonstrate how to drive it, along with other important safety features.

Then it’s time to set sail!

On the water

Your boat will have a QR code onboard, which you can scan to see a live map of your location, including points of interest and any restricted/shallow areas.

Our team regularly patrol out on the water, and if you need any assistance just call the number on your map and they will be with you in a moment!

Coming back to dock

When coming back in to dock, wait for a team member to guide you in and follow their instructions. Please don't tie up the boat by yourself.

We'd love to hear your feedback on the experience! If you had a great time, a Google or Tripadvisor review is the best way to help others discover GoBoat (and our team do a little dance every time one comes in!). If we didn't meet your expectations, please reach out to feedback@goboat.com.au and we'll be in touch.

How to drive a GoBoat

Watch our safety demonstration video to find out more about how GoBoat works.

How to be a good captain

To steer a GoBoat, place your dominant hand on the handle. Be aware that the handle steers in the opposite direction of where you are pointing. Twist the handle to the right to sail forward, and to the left to reverse.

The general rule on the water is keep to the right - the opposite to how you would drive on the road. Our crew will guide you through other "rules of the road" during your check-in process.

Benefits of boating

Marine biologist and author of "Blue Mind" Dr Wallace J Nichols says:

“Boating resets our brain, induces creativity, appeals to our senses and releases stress-reducing hormones.”
